Free £20k FMCG Rebrand Competition – Terms and Conditions

1. Competition Organiser
The competition is organised by SoreThumbStudio® (the “Organiser”), located at Creative Works, 7 Blackhorse Lane, London E17 6DS, UK. By entering the competition, participants agree to these Terms and Conditions.

2. Eligibility
2.1. The competition is open to FMCG startups worldwide that are actively scaling and currently have, or are planning to expand to, 2-6 SKUs. Businesses with more than six SKUs will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and on individual merit.
2.2. Participants must be 18 years or older at the time of entry.
2.3. Employees of SoreThumbStudio®, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) are not eligible to enter.
2.4. Only one entry per business is permitted.

3. How to Enter
3.1. To enter, participants must submit the required entry form through the competition website.
3.2. Entries must be submitted by 31st January 2025 (the “Competition Period”).
3.3. Late entries received after the Competition Period will be disqualified.
3.4. No entry fee is required.

4. Prizes
4.1. First Prize: One winning FMCG startup will receive a free £20,000 rebrand package.
4.2. Runners-Up: Two runners-up will each receive the same rebrand package for a fee of £5,000. The fee will be invoiced in two parts: 50% upfront and 50% prior to completion. All fees are subject to VAT.
4.3. The rebrand package includes:

  • A rigorous 5-stage process covering upfront strategy, design development, and the creation of print-ready artwork.

  • A 10-15 page set of tailored brand guidelines.

4.4. Additional costs may apply for external services, including but not limited to: Brand or product naming (should it be required), photography, illustration, iconography, character design, animation, copywriting, external typographic/identity refinement, 3D rendering, print testing, and printing.

5. Winner Selection and Notification
5.1. Ten shortlisted entrants will be invited for chemistry calls during February 2025.
5.2. Winners will be selected based on their alignment with the Organiser’s selection criteria, including suitability as a good fit with the agency and the growth plans of their business.
5.3. Winners will be notified via email or phone by 29th February 2025.
5.4. Participants must attend chemistry calls. Missing two attempts to arrange or attend a call will result in forfeiture of their opportunity.
5.5. Winners must confirm their acceptance within one week of notification. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the prize, and an alternate winner may be chosen.

6. Publicity
6.1. By entering, participants consent to the use of their name, logo, and brand details in marketing materials, including announcements on the Organiser’s website and social media.
6.2. Winners agree to participate in promotional activities related to the competition without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

7. Privacy
7.1. Personal data collected during the competition will be processed in accordance with the Organiser’s Privacy Policy.
7.2. Participant data will only be used for competition purposes and any additional uses explicitly consented to by participants.
7.3. Participant data will not be shared with third parties without prior consent.

8. Limitation of Liability
8.1. The Organiser is not responsible for incomplete, lost, or misdirected entries due to technical or other issues beyond its control.
8.2. The Organiser accepts no liability for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in the competition or use of the prize.

9. General Conditions
9.1. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the competition or its Terms and Conditions without prior notice in circumstances beyond its control.
9.2. The Organiser’s decisions regarding the competition are final and binding.
9.3. Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be communicated to participants via email.

 

Force Majeure Clause
The Organiser will not be held responsible for any delays, cancellations, or amendments to the competition caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, acts of government, or any other unforeseeable events.

10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.
